For the Love of LEGO

23 Nov 2018

Following the ever-growing range of building sets, sub-brands and movies to its name, LEGO theme parks have become a worldwide success, so it's no surprise that the recent opening of LEGOLAND Discovery Centre in Melbourne has local fans jumping for joy.

Australia's first LEGOLAND Discovery Centre has landed at Chadstone Shopping Centre [1341 Dandenong Road, Chadstone], offering visitors the chance to experience the ultimate indoor LEGO-themed playground, which features more than 2 million LEGO bricks. It's a smorgasbord of fun-filled LEGO-themed attractions and activities that will delight the little ones while impressing the adults.

4D Cinema

If you enjoy the magic of 3D movies, just wait until you experience LEGOLAND Discovery Centre's interactive 4D cinema. Put on your 4D glasses and strap in for a unique adventure, where you'll be drawn so far into the world of LEGO, that you'll be able to feel the wind, rain or perhaps the snow. Recently, the 4D cinema hosted the premiere of LEGO Movie 4D A New Adventure, based on the original LEGO Movie. The 4D Cinema also screens Legends of Chima and NEXO Knights: The Book of Creativity, which show exclusively at LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Melbourne.

Rides

Continue to delve further into the world of LEGO by taking a spin on the two featured rides: Kingdom Quest and Merlin’s Apprentice. Jump onboard your chariot and heroically save the captured princess on the Kingdom Quest ride. As your chariot takes you through a faraway land, you'll ward off enemies in the form of skeletons, trolls and other beasts in your journey to triumph. Help Merlin conjure his magic on the Merlin's Apprentice ride. Take a seat in a magic cart and get ready to pedal your way to becoming Merlin's next wizarding apprentice. The faster you pedal, the higher you'll go!

Build

Do you and your little ones want to get straight into making your own LEGO masterpiece? Head to one of LEGOLAND Discovery Centre’s many Play Spaces, perfect for getting creative and letting imaginations run wild! Visit the Build and Test Zone, where you can construct a vehicle and race it on three test tracks. If you're looking for some inspiration for your LEGO build, pay a visit to the Master Model Builders’ Workshop and watch in awe as amazing LEGO creations are assembled before your eyes. Or, take a seat inside the Creative Workshop and participate in a themed build with the guidance of a friendly Master Builder. A new theme is introduced to the Creative Workshop each month, so you could be building anything from dragonflies to race cars to mini Batman batwings! Little ones will love the DUPLO Farm where they can build their own creation from these larger, soft bricks. For those who would rather admire LEGO-creations than build them yourself, head to MINILAND Melbourne — an impressive and interactive LEGO mini city made from over 1.5 million bricks!
