Night Network

Explore the night with all-night public transport on weekends.

Of course, if your Melbourne weekend adventure stretches into the early hours of the morning – courtesy of the pubs, clubs and live music venues spread throughout the inner suburbs and even further – you can still explore the night and get back to your hotel without a fuss. On Friday and Saturday nights, Public Transport Victoria’s Night Network sees trams on major routes [19, 67, 75, 86, 96 and 109] running every half hour, train lines [except Stony Point and Flemington Racecourse] running hourly all through the night, and 21 Night Bus routes running every 30 to 60 minutes.

If your plans see you travelling into Melbourne late at night on a Friday or Saturday, you’re in luck. You can catch a Night Coach from Traralgon to Melbourne at 10pm, Bendigo to Melbourne at 10.20pm, or from Seymour to Melbourne at 11pm. And if you are planning on heading home late at night after a city getaway, Night Coaches depart Melbourne and travel to Ballarat, Bendigo, Geelong, Seymour and Traralgon at varying times between 1am and 2.15am. Find out all the details by visiting the PTV website.
