The stunning images and videos featured in Art of Science, a free annual exhibition, have been captured by local researchers who are tackling some of the biggest health challenges of our time including cancer, infectious diseases and ageing.
Get a ‘backstage pass’ into the laboratory as you are taken on a visual journey of biomedical exploration and discovery, made possible by the state-of-the-art imaging facilities at Melbourne's Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research.
See intestinal cells devouring themselves; neurons forming vital connections for the brain to function; a parasite-infected human cell moments before it bursts and much more.
All visitors are invited to submit their choice for the People’s Choice Award and go in the running to win a framed print of their favourite image.
The Walter and Eliza Hall Institute is currently the top-placed Australian medical research Institute according to the Nature Index, which compares organisations’ scientific publications.
Art of Science is a showcase of the 20 finalists from the Institute’s annual Art of Science competition.
