Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne

Just a 45 minute drive from Melbourne's city centre, discover the astonishing beauty and diversity of more than 170,000 individual native plants at the Cranbourne Gardens. The Australian Garden comprises 11 precincts and facilities at the northern end of the garden, boardwalks and viewing platforms on Howson and Gibson Hills, and an amphitheatre for education programs and performances. The Growing Friends host a plant sale at Cranbourne Gardens in October, where you can choose from a range of plants including grasses, climbers, border-plants, ground-cover, bushes, trees and more, many of which you will find in the Australian Garden.

From the Australian Garden, head into the bushland and picnic areas or visit the Gardens Shop and Boon Wurrung Cafe. The bushland has a state-of-the-art nature playground and hiking and biking trails.
