Located in St Kilda, Supernormal Canteen is the relaxed, bayside diner by acclaimed Melbourne chef Andrew McConnell, and is open from 5:00pm, seven days a week.
No carbon copy of its big-city sister, this is Supernormal Tokyo-style: faster, louder and livelier. A smoking yakitori at the central bar informs a playful menu comprising of new dishes as well as some old favourites.
The cuisine is a celebration of Andrew’s favourite dining experiences throughout Tokyo, Shanghai, Seoul and Hong Kong.
The menu offers a wide range of Asian-inspired dishes made from local Australian produce, such as Corner Inlet squid with XO and saltbush, punchy Dan Dan noodles, and of course the famous must-try lobster roll.
With an open kitchen and long marble bar, perfect for solo diners or pairs, you will have a front-row seat to all the action on the hibachi grills.
