Unique Transport

Melbourne has a variety of fun and unique ways to get around the city. All you need to do is choose the one which takes your fancy.

Seafaring

If you have limited time, or simply want to experience the city from a different angle, head to the water and jump on one of the boat cruises, ferries or water taxis that run down the Yarra River or across Port Phillip Bay.

Travel with Williamstown Ferries from Southbank along the scenic Yarra River and around the bay to Williamstown. Stop by Scienceworks or go all the way onto Williamstown and spend a day discovering this vibrant region.

Landing at points on the Yarra and Maribyrnong Rivers, Melbourne Water Taxis operate Friday evenings and weekend afternoons. Popular stops include WTC Wharf, South Wharf, Southgate and Federation Square. Special services run to other locations for major events.

Motorbikes + Trikes

With plenty of wide open roads to traverse, Melbourne has a variety of two- and three-wheeled transportation options.

Melbourne’s very own Tours on Trike run daily tours from Docklands, which range from 1-hour trips around the Albert Park raceway and 2-hour voyages over the West Gate Bridge, to full-day adventures around Port Phillip Bay. Get behind one of these choppers, and a professional rider and guide, and feel the wind in your hair.

Another group that will get you behind a beastly Harley Davidson is Harley Rides in Melbourne. Spend an afternoon on the back of a Harley Davidson heading out to the Yarra Valley for wine tasting, or to break up the city skyline drive along the Great Ocean Road, exploring one of the world’s great drives.

Pedicabs

Prefer to put your feet up and spend some time watching Melbourne pass you by? Slide into the back of a Green Monkey pedicab and let your rider chauffeur you around town. Available until midnight every night, there are six designated areas throughout the city where you can find them (or book using the link above).
